ANU / Interview
The ANU interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews for general undergraduate admission; Tuckwell Scholarship finalists are invited to an on-campus interview weekend in Canberra (by invitation only, separate process)
How to prepare for ANU
- ANU admission is almost entirely rank-based (ATAR or equivalent plus adjustment factors up to 15 points), so focus your energy on achieving the strongest possible academic results in your final year.
- Apply for legitimate adjustment factors early , Access and Equity schemes, elite athlete status, and school recommendation schemes can add meaningful points to your selection rank.
- If you are targeting the Tuckwell Scholarship (Australia's most prestigious undergraduate award), the written application questions carry enormous weight; treat them as seriously as a personal essay and give them months of preparation.
- Attend ANU Open Day or a campus information session and engage with admissions staff , demonstrating genuine interest and knowledge of your specific program can strengthen any discretionary considerations and helps you confirm you are applying to the right program.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
