ASU / Interview
The ASU interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews offered. ASU admits undergraduates through a rolling review of GPA, coursework, and (for Barrett Honors) a short essay , no interview component.
How to prepare for ASU
- Apply early in the rolling cycle (applications open July 1) , earlier submission means faster decisions and better scholarship consideration.
- If targeting Barrett Honors College, treat the 300-500 word essay seriously; it is the primary qualitative signal reviewers see.
- Demonstrate interest through campus visits or ASU virtual events, which can inform your Barrett essay and show genuine fit even without an interview.
- Focus energy on your GPA and course rigor , ASU's 3.0 minimum competency threshold means the transcript is the core admissions document.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
