Calgary / Interview
The Calgary interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews offered for most programs; auditions or portfolio reviews required only for performing arts (dance, music) applicants
How to prepare for Calgary
- Admission is primarily grades-based , your academic average is the most important factor, so focus on achieving the strongest transcript possible in senior-year courses.
- If applying to BHSc or certain arts programs, the supplementary application (written responses, due March 1) carries real weight , treat those short-answer questions as your only chance to speak beyond your grades.
- Demonstrate interest through official channels: attend UCalgary virtual open houses and program information sessions, as these signal genuine fit with a specific faculty.
- Apply well before the April 1 international deadline , competitive programs like Engineering and Nursing fill earlier, and Canadian universities do not typically defer to waitlists the way US schools do.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
