Colby / Interview
The Colby interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No traditional alumni or on-campus interviews offered; optional video interviews via Duolingo, Vericant, or InitialView accepted if submitted with the application.
How to prepare for Colby
- Colby does not offer alumni or admissions interviews, so focus energy on your essays, particularly the Common App personal statement, which carries significant weight in their holistic review.
- If applying as an international student, consider submitting an optional video interview through Duolingo, Vericant, or InitialView , these are accepted and can add a personal dimension to your file.
- Demonstrate interest through campus visits, virtual info sessions, or engaging with Colby admissions staff at college fairs, since demonstrated interest can matter at a school this selective.
- With no supplemental essays required, your Common App essay does all the heavy lifting , tailor its voice to reflect genuine intellectual curiosity, which aligns well with Colby's liberal arts identity.
Practice before the real thing
