Colorado College / Interview
The Colorado College interview
Informational interview, and it carries minor weight in the decision. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
Informational interview
Optional informational interview, ~30-45 min, virtual, conducted by a current CC student (admission fellow) or alumnus/alumna
How to prepare for Colorado College
- CC's interview is explicitly informational, not evaluative , the interviewer leads it as a conversation, so treat it as a two-way dialogue about fit rather than a performance.
- Come prepared with genuine questions about the Block Plan and how it shapes daily life; interviewers are current students or alumni who can speak from experience, so generic questions waste the opportunity.
- Authenticity is emphasized over polish , CC explicitly tells students dress is casual and to 'be yourself'; overly rehearsed answers can work against you.
- Sign up early in the fall through the CC applicant portal (CCBasecamp); spots fill and interviews must be completed before your chosen deadline round.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
