Concordia / Interview
The Concordia interview
Interview by invitation, and it carries minor weight in the decision. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
Interview by invitation
Required for select programs only (e.g. Dance, some Education and Liberal Arts streams); format varies by faculty , typically a short in-person or virtual meeting with faculty; not offered for the majority of applicants.
How to prepare for Concordia
- If you are applying to Dance, Education, or Liberal Arts, check your specific program page for whether an interview or audition is required , most other programs at Concordia do not interview at all.
- For programs that do require an interview, the focus is on academic fit and motivation for the discipline, not general college-essay topics , be ready to discuss why you chose that specific field.
- Since most Concordia programs are decided on grades alone, invest your energy in ensuring your transcripts and any required letters of intent or portfolios are strong and submitted well before the February 1 deadline for international applicants.
- To demonstrate interest outside of an interview, attend a Concordia virtual open day or information session , there is no demonstrated-interest metric, but it helps you craft a more specific letter of intent.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
