CUHK / Interview
The CUHK interview
Interview by invitation, and it carries moderate weight in the decision. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
Interview by invitation
By-invitation interview for shortlisted applicants, ~20-40 min, held December-August; online/phone available for overseas applicants unable to travel to Hong Kong
How to prepare for CUHK
- Interviews are programme-specific and only extended to shortlisted candidates , if you receive an invitation, treat it seriously as it is a genuine differentiator at this stage.
- For competitive programmes such as Medicine (MBChB) and Business, be ready to discuss your personal statement and why you chose that specific programme, as CUHK places weight on demonstrated fit and motivation.
- Overseas applicants who cannot travel to Hong Kong can request an online or phone interview , confirm this option early and ensure your technology setup is reliable well in advance.
- If you are not shortlisted for an interview, focus your remaining effort on a strong personal statement and referee letters, which are the primary factors CUHK uses to separate strong non-JUPAS applicants.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
