Dalhousie / Interview
The Dalhousie interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews offered; admission is based entirely on Grade 12 (or equivalent) academic results, with auditions only for performing arts programs.
How to prepare for Dalhousie
- Focus all energy on your final-year course grades , Dalhousie evaluates five senior academic subjects and strong marks are the single biggest lever for admission and merit scholarships.
- Apply early and aim to meet the February 15 scholarship deadline; no interview or essay gives you a back-channel to improve your file, so positioning your transcript well from the start is critical.
- For capped programs such as Engineering, Pharmacy, or Health Sciences, research program-specific cut-off averages on dal.ca , the overall acceptance rate is misleading because competitive programs are far more selective.
- Show interest through official channels such as campus tours, virtual info sessions, or emailing an admissions advisor with specific questions , Dalhousie does not track demonstrated interest formally, but direct contact can help you clarify requirements and confirm your application is complete.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
