Emerson / Interview
The Emerson interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews offered for general undergraduate applicants; Performing Arts program applicants complete a separate audition/interview process through Acceptd
How to prepare for Emerson
- Emerson places heavy weight on your essays and creative samples , treat your supplements as your primary way to demonstrate fit with a specific program
- Visit campus or attend a virtual information session to show demonstrated interest, since there is no interview channel to signal enthusiasm
- If applying to a Performing Arts program (Theatre, Musical Theatre), the Acceptd audition/interview is a separate required component , research those requirements well in advance of your application deadline
- Reach out to current students or alumni through Emerson's student ambassador program to learn about your target program, since you cannot use an interview to ask those questions directly
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
