Groningen / Interview
The Groningen interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews offered. Selective numerus fixus programs use a written selection test (e.g. Psychology) or a weighted/unweighted lottery (e.g. IRIO), not interviews.
How to prepare for Groningen
- Apply through Studielink by 15 January for numerus fixus programs , missing this hard deadline means no chance at competitive seats that cycle.
- For selective programs that use a motivation letter or video (e.g. University College Groningen), treat that document as your only voice: be specific about why Groningen and why that program, not generic enthusiasm.
- Prepare thoroughly for the Psychology selection test (held in March) , it tests academic reasoning, not interview skills, so practice with past papers rather than rehearsing answers.
- If your target program uses a lottery, ensure all language requirements and prerequisite documentation are submitted correctly and early, since lottery eligibility depends on meeting those criteria fully.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
