Guelph / Interview
The Guelph interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews offered. Admission is based on academic average, program prerequisites, and optionally the Student Profile Form (SPF).
How to prepare for Guelph
- Submit the Student Profile Form (SPF) by April 1 , it is optional but gives you a chance to explain context behind your grades, extracurriculars, and fit; treat it as your de facto personal statement.
- Focus energy on achieving and maintaining the required admission average for your specific program, as cutoffs vary widely (75%-85%+) and meeting the minimum does not guarantee an offer.
- Demonstrate interest through campus visits, open house events, and contacting the specific program's undergraduate advisor , Guelph has no formal demonstrated-interest tracking, but these interactions help you write a stronger SPF.
- Apply well before the January 15 OUAC deadline and monitor your myGuelph applicant portal closely, as some high-demand programs fill quickly and conditional offers are tied to final transcript submission.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
