Hamilton / Interview
The Hamilton interview
Optional interview, and it carries minor weight in the decision. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
Optional interview
Optional alumni interview, ~30-45 min, conducted by local alumni volunteers or virtually
How to prepare for Hamilton
- Hamilton's alumni interviewers are often passionate about the school's open curriculum , be ready to discuss how you'd design your own academic path without distribution requirements.
- The interview is primarily informational and a chance for you to ask questions; come with genuine, specific questions about campus life, the writing-intensive culture, or particular programs.
- Hamilton values intellectual curiosity and clear thinking , be able to articulate why you're drawn to a small liberal arts environment over a university, and do so concretely.
- Alumni may not be briefed on your application details, so be prepared to introduce yourself from scratch and frame your interests and goals clearly in conversation.
Practice before the real thing
