Holy Cross / Interview
The Holy Cross interview
Optional interview, and it carries minor weight in the decision. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
Optional interview
Optional alumni interview, ~30-45 min, virtual or in your area via the Alumni Admissions Program
How to prepare for Holy Cross
- Lean into Holy Cross's Jesuit identity , interviewers often appreciate candidates who can speak genuinely about intellectual curiosity, service, or cura personalis (care for the whole person), not just academic credentials.
- Come prepared with specific questions about the college rather than generic ones; alumni interviewers respond well to applicants who have researched Holy Cross's distinctive programs and campus culture.
- The interview is largely informational and two-way , treat it as a conversation rather than a formal evaluation; the alumni will also share their own Holy Cross experience.
- Since the interview is optional and minor in weight, focus your energy on the 'Why Holy Cross' supplement, which carries more admissions weight than the interview itself.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
