Leeds / Interview
The Leeds interview
Interview by invitation, and it carries significant weight in the decision. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
Interview by invitation
Interviews by invitation only for Medicine, Dentistry, and a small number of other selective courses (e.g. some healthcare programmes); typically held on campus or virtually, ~20-30 min, often MMI format for medicine. No interview for the vast majority of applicants.
How to prepare for Leeds
- If applying to Medicine or Dentistry, prepare for the Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) format , rotate through short scenario-based stations rather than one long panel conversation.
- Leeds Medicine interviews test ethical reasoning, communication, and motivation for the course; practice talking through your reasoning process aloud, not just reaching the 'right' answer.
- For non-medicine applicants (most courses), there is no interview , focus your energy on writing a strong, specific personal statement that connects your academic interests directly to the Leeds course structure.
- Demonstrate interest in Leeds beyond generic reasons: reference specific modules, research groups, or the city's clinical/professional links relevant to your subject.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
