LMU / Interview
The LMU interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews offered; LMU does not conduct admissions interviews for undergraduate applicants.
How to prepare for LMU
- Demonstrate genuine interest in LMU's Jesuit and Marymount mission through your essays , the optional 'Why LMU' supplement is your main opportunity to show fit with the university's values of service, community, and social justice.
- Visit campus or attend a virtual information session and log your engagement; demonstrated interest can matter even without an interview, and admissions counselors do track it.
- Use the optional essay strategically , reference specific programs, centers (such as the Center for Service and Action), or faculty research that align with your goals to make your application stand out.
- Letters of recommendation should speak to character and values alongside academics, since LMU's holistic review emphasizes the full person consistent with its Catholic, Jesuit, and Marymount identity.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
