McGill / Interview
The McGill interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews offered; admission is based entirely on academic grades and program-specific requirements.
How to prepare for McGill
- McGill admits on grades alone, so your academic transcript is everything , focus energy on achieving the highest possible grades in relevant subjects rather than on any interview preparation.
- If your grades fall near the cutoff for your target program (e.g., Engineering, Science, Management), a strong supplemental essay where one is required (such as Global Engineering) is your only narrative lever.
- Show demonstrated interest through McGill's own channels , attending virtual info sessions, open houses, or campus tours signals commitment and helps you write more specifically about the program in any required personal statement.
- Research the specific faculty's admission average, not just the overall university rate, since competitive programs like Medicine or Law have significantly higher grade requirements.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
