Nottingham / Interview
The Nottingham interview
Interview by invitation, and it carries significant weight in the decision. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
Interview by invitation
Interviews for medicine and selected healthcare/competitive courses only, conducted by invitation; most applicants receive no interview. Format varies by course: medicine typically uses panel or MMI-style interviews on campus.
How to prepare for Nottingham
- If you are not applying to medicine or a healthcare course, no interview will be offered , focus all effort on a strong UCAS personal statement and predicted grades.
- Medicine and healthcare applicants should prepare for multiple mini-interviews (MMI) or panel formats; Nottingham's medical school is known for values-based questioning around empathy and NHS awareness.
- For courses that do invite you, treat it as academic discussion, not a personality test , tutors want to probe your subject knowledge and critical thinking, not small talk.
- If no interview is offered, demonstrate interest through your personal statement, open-day attendance, and well-researched course references specific to Nottingham's curriculum.
