Penn State / Interview
The Penn State interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews offered; Penn State does not conduct admissions interviews for undergraduate applicants.
How to prepare for Penn State
- Submit your application early under the November 1 Early Action deadline , Penn State reviews on a rolling basis, and earlier submission means more open seats, especially for competitive majors at University Park.
- Include the optional personal statement (up to 650 words); skipping it means giving the admissions reader fewer reasons to admit you in a process where holistic signals matter.
- Demonstrate interest through campus visits, information sessions, or contacting admissions if you have a specific major question , Penn State tracks demonstrated interest even without an interview mechanism.
- If applying to the Schreyer Honors College, treat that application with extra care since it has its own November 1 deadline and is more selective than general Penn State admission.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
