The Purdue interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews offered. Purdue does not conduct admissions interviews for undergraduate applicants.
How to prepare for Purdue
- Apply directly to your intended major and write the 'why this major' short answers with genuine specificity , these essays carry significant weight since Purdue admits by college and major, not undecided.
- Demonstrate demonstrated interest through campus visits, virtual info sessions, or contacting the admissions office, since there is no interview to show interest in person.
- If applying to competitive programs like engineering or CS, research Purdue's faculty, research centers, or co-op opportunities and reference them in your essays to signal fit.
- Apply Early Action by November 1 for the best shot at competitive programs and Honors College consideration , Purdue's EA is non-binding but reviewing your file earlier matters for limited-seat majors.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
