Queen's / Interview
The Queen's interview
Interview by invitation, and it carries significant weight in the decision. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
Interview by invitation
Required Kira Talent video assessment for Commerce, Health Sciences, and Nursing applicants only , one written response (~335 words) plus one 2-minute video response, completed online at your own pace within the submission window; no interviews for most other programs.
How to prepare for Queen's
- The Kira Talent video response is mandatory for Commerce, Health Sciences, and Nursing , treat it as seriously as a live interview; these three programs are already the most selective at Queen's.
- Complete the mandatory practice session on Kira before recording your official response; it familiarizes you with the timer and recording interface and is a required part of the check-in process.
- Find a quiet, well-lit space with a stable internet connection before you begin , technical problems during recording are your responsibility and the platform does not offer retakes on the official submission.
- For the written component, stay within the 335-word limit and be specific about your reasons for choosing that particular Queen's program; generic responses are easy to spot and do not stand out in a volume-based review.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
