Scripps / Interview
The Scripps interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews offered for first-year applicants; transfer applicants may interview with an admission counselor or senior ambassador (~30 min, virtual).
How to prepare for Scripps
- Use the campus visit or virtual info session to demonstrate genuine interest , Scripps tracks demonstrated interest and these touchpoints matter.
- Write a focused, specific Why Scripps essay (200-word limit); mention the Core curriculum, the joint Claremont Colleges resources, or specific faculty/programs you researched.
- Reach out to your regional admission counselor with a thoughtful question , this creates a record of engagement without an interview.
- If you are a transfer applicant, the ~30-min admission counselor interview is available and worth requesting; prepare to discuss your academic trajectory and why Scripps specifically fits your goals.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
