SNU / Interview
The SNU interview
Interview by invitation, and it carries moderate weight in the decision. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
Interview by invitation
Department-specific interview or audition, required only for select departments (arts, music, physical education, and some Type II international applicants); most international applicants have no interview
How to prepare for SNU
- SNU admission is decided college by college and department by department , check your specific department's requirements carefully, as most departments do not interview international applicants at all.
- If you are applying under International Admissions Type II (schooled entirely outside Korea), be prepared that some departments may call you for an interview; treat it as an academic conversation about your field of study.
- Arts, music, and physical education programs often require an in-person audition or skills test rather than a conventional admissions interview , confirm format and location well in advance, as these typically require travel to Seoul.
- Because most departments rely entirely on documents, make your Personal Statement and Study Plan (Form 2) do the work your interview cannot , be specific about why SNU and why your chosen department.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
