SFU / Interview
The SFU interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews offered. Admission is grades-based; most applicants are assessed on academic record alone.
How to prepare for SFU
- Focus on your academic average , SFU sets program-specific grade cutoffs, so GPA is the primary lever you can control.
- If you are applying via the Diverse Qualifications pathway, the Personal Information Profile is your main opportunity to contextualize your record; treat it with the same care you would an interview.
- Beedie School of Business BBA applicants face a supplemental application with video questions , prepare concise, authentic responses as this acts as a substitute for traditional interviews for that program.
- Demonstrate interest through campus visits, open houses, or direct contact with departments, since SFU has no formal interview channel through which to signal enthusiasm.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
