Tulane / Interview
The Tulane interview
Optional interview, and it carries minor weight in the decision. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
Optional interview
Optional interview scheduled through Tulane's admissions portal, ~30 min, conducted virtually with an admissions representative or alumni volunteer
How to prepare for Tulane
- Tulane's interview is informational and low-stakes , use it to show genuine enthusiasm for New Orleans and Tulane's culture of service and community, not just academic rankings.
- Come prepared with specific reasons why Tulane fits your goals; vague answers about 'great academics' are forgettable. Mention something concrete about a school, program, or New Orleans that excites you.
- Tulane values demonstrated interest , scheduling and completing the interview itself signals commitment, especially if you're applying Regular Decision rather than Early Decision.
- Keep the conversation natural; these interviews are designed to be informal. Ask the interviewer a thoughtful question about their own Tulane experience.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
