The UC Berkeley interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews offered. UC Berkeley does not conduct admissions interviews for undergraduate applicants.
How to prepare for UC Berkeley
- Your four Personal Insight Questions (350 words each) carry the full narrative weight , choose prompts that let you show genuine depth, not just a list of achievements.
- UC Berkeley's holistic review puts significant emphasis on how you will contribute to the campus community; make sure at least one PIQ addresses your specific connection to Berkeley's academic programs or campus culture.
- Demonstrate demonstrated interest through campus visits, virtual info sessions, or contacting admissions , Berkeley does track some interest signals even without interviews.
- Since test scores are not considered, your GPA trend, course rigor, and PIQs are the primary differentiators , address any grade dips or unusual circumstances in the Additional Comments section.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
