UConn / Interview
The UConn interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews offered for general undergraduate applicants. Certain programs (e.g., Theatre Studies) may require a separate audition or portfolio review.
How to prepare for UConn
- Visit campus or attend a virtual information session to demonstrate genuine interest, since UConn tracks demonstrated interest and it can play a role in admissions decisions.
- Use the personal statement and any optional program-specific prompts to convey your voice and fit , these carry more weight than at schools that conduct interviews.
- If applying to a program with a portfolio or audition component (e.g., Theatre, Fine Arts), treat that submission as your equivalent of an interview , it is the primary evaluative step.
- Connect with current students or attend admitted-student events; these interactions can reinforce your commitment and give you material for scholarship applications.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
