Denver / Interview
The Denver interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews offered; DU does not conduct admissions interviews for undergraduate applicants.
How to prepare for Denver
- Since DU requires no supplemental essays and conducts no interview, your Common App personal statement is the only direct writing sample admissions readers see , make it specific, authentic, and reflective of who you are rather than a generic achievement summary.
- Demonstrate demonstrated interest through campus visits (in-person or virtual) and engaging with DU's regional information sessions, as DU does track interest and it can matter at the margins given the absence of other touchpoints.
- If you are applying for merit scholarships (the Boettcher, Trustee, or Chancellor awards), note that some scholarship competitions do include an interview stage , prepare for those separately if invited.
- Use the 'additional information' section of the Common App deliberately if there is context admissions cannot see elsewhere; it partially substitutes for the interview voice you cannot provide.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
