How to prepare for Houston
- Visit campus or attend a virtual information session to demonstrate genuine interest, since UH uses demonstrated interest as one of its holistic review signals.
- Focus your energy on the Common App personal statement , UH allows only prompts 1, 2, 3, or 5, so pick the one that best shows your character and fit.
- Submit your application by the November priority deadline to maximize scholarship consideration; decisions are made on a rolling basis so earlier is better.
- A strong resume matters at UH , it is required alongside the essay, so treat it as a real part of the application rather than an afterthought.
