Kansas / Interview
The Kansas interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews offered. Admissions decisions are based on academic record and standardized test scores via rolling review.
How to prepare for Kansas
- Focus on submitting a complete, accurate application early , KU uses rolling admissions, so earlier applications receive earlier decisions and scholarship consideration.
- Apply by December 1 to be considered for KU institutional scholarships; missing this date can cost significant aid even if admission is granted later.
- If applying to the University Honors Program, submit by November 1 and prepare three short essays , this is the one part of KU's process that resembles a holistic review.
- Visit campus or attend a virtual information session to demonstrate interest and get a clearer sense of fit, since KU has no interview to make a personal impression through.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
