The Nebraska interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews offered , admissions is formula-based on GPA, test scores, and core course completion.
How to prepare for Nebraska
- Admissions is largely automatic if you meet the academic thresholds (3.0+ GPA or qualifying test score plus 16 core courses), so focus your energy on scholarship deadlines , priority is November 1.
- Demonstrate interest through campus visits, attending virtual info sessions, or connecting with your academic department directly, since there is no interview to signal enthusiasm.
- If you are on the borderline academically, a strong Common App personal statement matters more than most other factors , make it specific to your goals and Nebraska's programs.
- Research specific colleges or programs within UNL (engineering, business, journalism) and reference them in your application materials to show intentionality.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
