USD / Interview
The USD interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews offered; admissions decisions are based on application materials only.
How to prepare for USD
- Visit campus or attend a virtual information session , USD admissions counselors pay attention to demonstrated interest, and these events are a concrete way to show it.
- USD's two short essays (350 words max each) carry significant weight for a school that doesn't interview; use them to show genuine fit with USD's Catholic, liberal arts, and social justice mission.
- Connect directly with your regional admissions counselor by email or at a college fair , a brief, substantive exchange can supplement what interviews do at other schools.
- Submit Early Action by November 1 if USD is a priority; the school is test-free, so your essays and GPA carry extra weight and a timely application signals commitment.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
