USF / Interview
The USF interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews offered for first-year domestic applicants; off-campus appointment portals exist only for admitted transfer students and international applicants.
How to prepare for USF
- With no interview, your Common App personal statement carries almost all the weight , USF dropped its general supplement, so write a specific, compelling essay rather than a generic one.
- Visit campus or attend a USF virtual information session to demonstrate genuine interest; admissions tracks engagement even without an interview.
- If you are an international applicant, USF does offer off-campus interview appointments , check apply.usfca.edu/portal/intl-off-campus-interviews to schedule one and show commitment.
- USF is a Jesuit institution, so connecting your goals to service, social justice, or community in your essay resonates with the mission , but be authentic, not formulaic.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
