Penn / Interview
The Penn interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews offered. Penn eliminated its alumni conversation program starting with the 2025-26 cycle; no evaluative or informational interviews are available.
How to prepare for Penn
- Focus your energy on Penn's three required short supplements (150-200 words each) , this is now the primary place to show fit, as there is no interview to compensate for a weak essay.
- Research Penn's specific programs, dual-degree options (e.g. M&T, Huntsman, VIPER), and faculty before writing; specificity in essays signals genuine interest that the alumni conversation used to provide.
- Demonstrated interest still matters , attend Penn info sessions, connect with current students at college fairs, and reach out to admissions if you visit campus.
- Since no interview can salvage a thin application, treat recommendations as your only 'human voice' , brief recommenders well so their letters add dimension beyond your transcript.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
