USC / Interview
The USC interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews offered; USC does not conduct admissions interviews for undergraduate applicants.
How to prepare for USC
- Visit campus or attend a USC virtual information session to demonstrate genuine interest , USC does track demonstrated interest through these channels.
- Use the 10 short-answer prompts (100 characters each) strategically; these micro-essays are your main chance to show personality and specificity beyond the Common App essay.
- Research your specific USC school or program carefully , the application asks why that school within USC, so vague answers about 'LA' or 'prestige' stand out negatively.
- Apply by the November 1 Early Action deadline if you want scholarship consideration; EA also signals commitment without restricting other applications.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
