UVic / Interview
The UVic interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews offered. Admission is grades-based through EducationPlannerBC; no alumni or admissions interview exists for undergraduate applicants.
How to prepare for UVic
- Focus almost entirely on your transcript , UVic's undergraduate admission is driven by your top course grades, so a strong academic record in relevant prerequisite subjects is your primary lever.
- For competitive or capped programs (Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Nursing), apply as early as possible; programs can close without warning well before the May 1 deadline.
- If your grades fall short of a direct-entry program, use the Expanded Qualifications essay pathway (for Science or Engineering/CS) , it is the one written component that can offset borderline grades.
- Demonstrate interest through UVic's campus visit days and information sessions rather than through any interview process, as there is no interview to showcase fit.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
