How to prepare for Washington State
- WSU uses rolling admissions and makes decisions based primarily on GPA and coursework , apply early in the fall to receive a faster decision and access priority scholarship consideration by January 31.
- If you are targeting the Honors College, focus your energy on the two required essays (400-500 words each), as those are the main evaluative component of that selective process.
- Visit campus or attend a WSU virtual information session to demonstrate genuine interest, since there is no interview channel to show enthusiasm directly to admissions.
- For competitive merit scholarships, submit the general scholarship application by the January 31 priority deadline , this is where demonstrated interest and achievement matter most.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
