Wesleyan / Interview
The Wesleyan interview
Optional interview, and it carries minor weight in the decision. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
Optional interview
Optional alumni interview, ~30-45 min, conducted virtually or in your local area by a Wesleyan graduate volunteer
How to prepare for Wesleyan
- Wesleyan's interview is informational and alumni-led , your interviewer chose to volunteer, so genuine curiosity about their own Wesleyan experience goes a long way.
- Emphasize intellectual range and the 'Wesleyan spirit': willingness to think independently, pursue unconventional combinations of interests, and engage across disciplines.
- Because Wesleyan dropped its supplemental essays, the interview is one of the few places you can speak directly to why Wesleyan fits your particular intellectual style , use it to fill that gap.
- Request an interview early; availability varies by region and slots can fill before the deadline.
Practice before the real thing
