Western / Interview
The Western interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews for standard undergraduate admission; Ivey AEO applicants complete an asynchronous Kira Talent video interview as part of the supplementary application (~15-20 min, recorded online).
How to prepare for Western
- Admission to virtually all Western programs is decided purely on academics , your Ontario grade 12 average (or equivalent) is the primary factor, so maximize your final grades.
- If applying for Ivey AEO, the Kira Talent video component is high-stakes (~8% acceptance rate): practice speaking concisely under a strict time limit before the real session, as you cannot redo your answers.
- Demonstrate interest and fit through Western's supplementary essays (Ivey AEO essays, Scholar's Electives, Nursing) rather than expecting any interview opportunity for standard programs.
- For selective programs like Nursing or Scholar's Electives, meet all supplementary deadlines in January-February , late submissions are not considered regardless of grades.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
