Wisconsin / Interview
The Wisconsin interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews offered. UW-Madison does not conduct admissions interviews for undergraduate applicants.
How to prepare for Wisconsin
- Focus on the supplemental essays , UW-Madison's prompts ask why you chose your specific major and what you'll contribute to campus, so tailor your answers to the school rather than submitting generic responses.
- Demonstrate interest through campus visits, information sessions, or virtual events, since UW does track demonstrated interest and has no interview to signal it.
- Apply Early Action by November 1 to maximize your chances , EA gives you an earlier read on your application and is non-binding.
- Make sure your intended major selection is deliberate and supported by your activities and essays, as UW reads holistically for fit with your chosen program.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
