York U (Canada) / Interview
The York U (Canada) interview
Interview by invitation, and it carries moderate weight in the decision. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
Interview by invitation
Kira Talent video interview required for Schulich BBA applicants only; asynchronous on-demand format, completed online on your own schedule after the supplementary application
How to prepare for York U (Canada)
- The Kira Talent video interview is specific to Schulich BBA , if you are applying to any other York program (Lassonde, AMPD, Liberal Arts, etc.) there is no interview component at all.
- Kira Talent is asynchronous: you receive prompts and record responses with a brief prep window. You cannot redo answers, so practice out loud with a timer beforehand rather than scripting word-for-word.
- Schulich values leadership, community involvement, and entrepreneurial mindset , use your responses to speak concretely to those themes with specific examples rather than broad claims.
- Complete the supplementary application and Kira interview well before the February 3 deadline; waiting until the last day adds technical risk and signals low interest to an increasingly competitive program.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
