ETH Zurich / Interview
The ETH Zurich interview
No admissions interview. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
No admissions interview
No interviews offered. ETH Zurich admits bachelor applicants solely on academic records and, where required, an entrance examination. No personal statements, motivation letters, or admissions interviews are part of the process.
How to prepare for ETH Zurich
- Invest heavily in your academic preparation , grades and entrance exam scores are the only levers you can pull; there is no interview to compensate for a weak transcript.
- If you are required to sit the ETH entrance examination (most international applicants are), register between 15 September and 15 October and prepare rigorously , it covers mathematics and subject-specific content at a high level.
- Demonstrate genuine fit through your choice of program and any optional supporting documents the department allows; ETH does not weigh motivation letters for bachelor entry, so focus on what is actually evaluated.
- Attend ETH's open days or information events if possible , while they carry no formal weight, they help you make an informed program choice and signal real interest if you later pursue a master's application, where practices differ.
Practice before the real thing
Rehearse real admissions-interview questions and get an honest read on your answers, what an interviewer hears, where you sound generic, and what to sharpen. We coach you; we never script you.
