IE University / Interview
The IE University interview
Interview required, and it carries significant weight in the decision. Here is how it works and how to prepare.
Interview required
Required personal interview, ~30 min, conducted online via IE's admissions platform after completing the online assessment
How to prepare for IE University
- IE's interview is part of a multi-step process (application → ieGAT/SAT → online assessment → interview), so by the time you interview, the committee already has your test results and written/video essay , be ready to build on those, not just repeat them.
- The interview tends to focus on entrepreneurial thinking, international mindset, and why you chose IE specifically , be concrete about what draws you to its methodology (case-based learning, Madrid location, global cohort) rather than giving generic answers.
- IE values diversity and cross-cultural communication; be prepared to discuss how your background would contribute to a classroom of 140+ nationalities, not just what IE can offer you.
- Rolling admissions means earlier applicants move through the process faster , don't treat a later interview slot as lower stakes; popular programs like BBA fill quickly, so interview promptly once invited.
Practice before the real thing
